Factory-Built Chimney Chase Cover Replacement, The Trails

The original galvanized chase cover on this prefabricated chimney had rusted through at the drip edges, staining the siding and allowing water to pool on the firestop below. Water damage is what kills factory-built units in Frisco’s clay soil settlement zones, so we fabricated a custom 24-gauge steel chase cover with welded corners and a cross-break to prevent ponding, then resealed the chimney cap to the chase with a proper storm collar.
